Accreditation & Inspections

At the ABC we are proud of our Azerbaijani heritage. We are an international school modelled on the British educational system.

ABC is registered and recognised by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. We are open to their inspection They allow us to teach the National Curriculum for England and wales, providing we also teach Azerbaijan language and culture according to national plans. Approvals from other ministerial authorities are also necessary such as health and safety.

Our students sit Azerbaijani examinations, but we are also approved as an examination centre for international examinations. This assures that the school’s students can get accredited qualifications that are recognised across the world. We undergo annual inspection by Cambridge, BCS and Edexcel to make sure we abide by their high standards.   ABC is the only International school in the world accredited by BCS, The UK’s chartered Institute for IT, to offer its Level 1 (Year 6) and Level 2 (Year 8) ICT qualifications.

Membership of different associations provide an opportunity to share good practice and make sure the quality of our educational provision is second to none. ABC started this procedure, submitting ourselves to formal review back in 2018 We received visits from both COBIS and CIS teams who came to assess the quality of our education and work with us to develop plans for improvement. In 2021 we submitted evidence for the progress we had made as well as receiving a second team of 5 inspectors. The outcome of this process was that in July of 2021 we were awarded full accredited member status with CIS and in September 2021 we received the same from COBIS. These accreditations act as a quality recognition for students and parents. We are the only school in the whole region to hold both accreditations.  ABC is also an invited member of the Black Sea Schools Group (BSS), which is an association of  British accredited schools in our region.  BSS organise meetings, competitions and opportunities to share best practice between the regions top accredited schools.
