At ABC, we have a mandatory school uniform policy.

Research shows that school uniforms support a safe and disciplined learning environment which is the first requirement of any good school. Students who are safe and secure, who learn the basic values and the essentials of good citizenship are better students. The following are observed benefits of school uniforms in many communities that have adopted uniform policies:

By wearing their school uniforms, students will become part of a team. It is this team effort that the School hopes will help students experience a greater sense of school identity and belonging and promote academic excellence.

A safe and disciplined learning environment is the first requirement of a good school. Young people who are safe and secure, who learn basic values and the essentials of good citizenship, are better students. In response to growing levels of violence in our schools, many parents, teachers, and school officials have come to see school uniforms as one positive and creative way to reduce discipline problems and increase school safety.

They observed that the adoption of school uniform policies can promote school safety, improve discipline, and enhance the learning environment. The potential benefits of school uniforms include:

  • Decreasing violence and theft - even life-threatening situations - among students over designer clothing or expensive sneakers;
  • Instilling students with discipline;
  • Promoting equality;
  • Helping parents and students resist peer pressure;
  • Helping students concentrate on their school work;
  • Helping school officials recognize intruders who come to the school;
  • Helping students concentrate on their work by removing distractions;
  • Instilling a sense of community;
  • Helping to prevent gang members from wearing gang colours and insignias at school.

We ask parents to fully support our uniform policy which includes students wearing correct uniform every day including wearing proper shoes.

Students who fail to wear uniform will not be allowed to remain lessons and parents must either bring their correct uniform or take the students home.

We realise that on rare occasions there are emergencies and will accept black dress trousers/skirt and white dress shirt/blouse.

We will not accept jeans at all.
