Teacher Professional Development:

ABC provides its staff with access to a wide range of high-quality professional development opportunities designed to enhance teaching practice and support continuous improvement.

ABC holds licences with Tes-Educare and National College, enabling all staff members to access an extensive catalogue of online training programmes. These courses support best practice in education, encourage reflective teaching, and promote professional excellence across all stages of a teacher’s career.

In addition to these resources, ABC actively promotes continuous professional development through strong links and partnerships with a range of respected organizations, including universities, the Commonwealth Education Trust, the British Council, UNESCO, UNICEF, the Council of International Schools, the Black Seas School Group, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Education, and the Council of British International Schools. These collaborations provide staff with ongoing opportunities to enhance their skills, broaden their knowledge, and remain informed of international educational standards and developments.

As education continues to evolve—particularly within international curricula—our high expectations often require staff to update their skills or undertake specialist training. ABC actively supports this growth to ensure teaching and learning remain dynamic, current, and effective.

Cambridge Diploma of Teaching and Learning

This is a one-year course certified and accredited by Cambridge as part of their ‘Professional Development Qualifications’. They are delivered by Cambridge qualified programme leaders. The course provides a solid foundation for staff to deliver effectively the international curriculum to meet international standards for teachers. It is delivered across the year whilst teachers work in the classroom.

Pearson Edexcel Training

Our teachers benefit from Pearson Edexcel professional development training designed to support the effective delivery of internationally recognized Edexcel qualifications. These trainings provide guidance on curriculum requirements, assessment standards, examination procedures, and best teaching practices, ensuring high-quality instruction and consistent academic outcomes aligned with global standards.

COBIS Professional Learning

COBIS Professional Learning offers high-quality professional development for teachers and school leaders, aligned with international education standards. The programmes focus on effective classroom practice and strategic school leadership, supporting continuous improvement and sustaining excellent learning environments.

Internal CPD Programme

In addition to external opportunities, ABC’s leadership team delivers weekly in-house CPD sessions for teaching staff. These sessions promote reflective practice, encourage the sharing of best practice, and support the consistent alignment of classroom teaching with the school’s vision, values, and educational standards.
